About the Youth Series 💛

This free, live Ramadan youth series is designed to help children and teens build a meaningful connection with Ramadan through age-appropriate learning and guided reflection.

Across four Sundays, students are supported in understanding the Qur’an, strengthening du’a, and developing positive faith habits that last beyond the month.

This will help create a safe and thoughtful environment where young hearts can grow with confidence, purpose, and love for their faith.

Each Sunday features live, age-based sessions designed for your child’s grade level.

A joyful introduction to Ramadan that nurtures faith through simple du’a, kindness, gratitude, and love for the Qur’an. Sessions gently introduce special moments like Laylatul Qadr and Eid, helping children build positive habits and connect to Ramadan with confidence and happiness.

Focus: Spiritual and emotional growth

Outcome: Children experience Ramadan with joy, awareness, and love for faith.

Guided learning that deepens understanding of Ramadan, worship, and the Qur’an while building discipline, gratitude, and responsibility. Students reflect, set goals, and learn the significance of Laylatul Qadr and Eid as they discover how faith applies to everyday life.

The Ramadan Youth Series is led by Shaykh Fayaz Tilly, an Islamic scholar, educator, and chaplain based in Calgary with years of experience working with children, teens, and young adults.

Shaykh Fayaz serves as a resident scholar at the South Calgary Knowledge & Tarbiya Centre and has previously worked as a chaplain at multiple universities, supporting youth through faith, identity, and life transitions.

A graduate of Al-Madania Islamic Seminary, he has been actively involved in community and youth development for over a decade and was recognized with a gold medal for interfaith work by King Abdullah II in 2017.

Known for his calm, thoughtful approach, Shaykh Fayaz focuses on helping young people build sincere faith, strong character, and practical spiritual habits that last beyond Ramadan.
